The short version.

Where does Gametime Catering serve?

We are based in Long Valley, New Jersey and cater across the whole state. The tailgate side is anchored at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, where what we run is your own group’s private tailgate. Travel is billed on top of the quote, so send the address along with your headcount.

What kinds of events do you cater?

Sports events and concert nights, corporate and group events, backyard and block-party barbecues, graduations, and bachelor and bachelorette parties. The sports side includes Giants and Jets tailgates in the MetLife Stadium lots. Full service tops out at 400 guests. Smaller groups can go à la carte instead, which is the food delivered hot with no crew on site.

What are your hours, and how do I reach you?

We answer 8:00am to 8:00pm, seven days. Call for the fastest answer, since Dan books first-come. Email and the quote form on the contact page work too.

Who will I actually be working with?

Dan Marney, the owner. He quotes the job, plans it, and is on site running it. No call center, no rotating account reps, nobody to pass the buck. In business since 2007, more than 350 events, and one company that has rebooked him for fifteen straight years.

How does your pricing work?

Tailgates, barbecue packages, and à la carte all carry published prices on this site, so you can see real numbers before you call. Corporate and group events are quoted individually against the headcount, the menu, and the site itself. Published prices cover what each package page lists as included. The barbecue packages are priced per person, food only, with staffing additional. NJ sales tax at 6.625% and travel are additional, gratuity is additional on the tailgate package, and prices are subject to change.

How far ahead do I need to book, and what holds the date?

Two weeks is the minimum notice, and booking earlier locks the date. A deposit holds it, and deposits are non-refundable. NFL season dates and corporate dates fill fast, so early is better.

What do you not take on?

We never supply the alcohol. On the tailgate package you bring it, we bring the coolers, and ice for it is available. Full-service barbecue starts at 50 guests, and below that it is à la carte delivery instead. Stadium days run on the tailgate package only, so the barbecue packages are not offered at MetLife. And every service carries the same two weeks’ notice minimum, so we are not set up for same-week requests.

What if the day does not go to plan?

The person who quoted your event is the person standing at the grill, which is the whole point of how Dan runs this. In his own words: “You will deal directly with me, from the original email or call until the event is complete.”
